
The Specialty Foods, Yeast and Food Additives Division of the Chamber of Food Industries organized its first regular meeting for the year of 2024, headed by Dr. Adel Ismail, head of the Special Foods and Additives Division at the Chamber, and in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sami, Acting Director of the General Administration for Food Export Control at the National Food Safety Authority and a large number of member companies of the Chamber, to discuss the implementation of Regulatory Circular No. 5 of 2023 on By requesting a special data card on packages prepared for export in the presence of a group of food companies that are members of the Chamber. This meeting comes in light of the permanent and ongoing coordination between the Chamber of Food Industries and the National Food Safety Authority to discuss the controls and decisions issued by the Authority and raise problems and respond to the most important questions in order to reach common grounds and solutions that are in the best interests of the state and food manufacturing companies to increase exports.
Dr. Adel Ismail confirmed that the Chamber is discussing with the Authority’s Food Export Control Department the application of the data card on packages intended for export in order to facilitate the export process for companies, which comes as part of the concerns of food companies in the year of 2024 within the framework of contributing to achieving the state’s 2030 vision to increase exports to 100 Billion Dollars.
Dr. Ashraf Sami also added that placing the data label on the packages plays a major role in completing and increasing the export process, as we aim through this cooperation to verify it and that it is carried out in accordance with the requirements of countries and markets, which is a necessary measure to regulate exports from the perspective of the Egyptian state and the Food Safety Control Department by determining importers’ requests within a scientific framework and from a supervisory and regulatory perspective. Therefore, exports must comply with international legislation in a way that is in the interest of the state and preserves the reputation of our products, thus opening and maintaining new markets.
