
The Specification Division for Traditional Dairy Products and Dairy Assembly Centers organized its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Mr. Ahmed Ghazi, and in the presence of Mr. Saeed Badr, member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fadil, Dr. Mahmoud Melam, Dr. Nourhan Othman Abaza, representatives of the National Food Safety Authority, and Dr. Imad Mohamed Ali, Environmental Compliance Center of the Federation of Industries, and a number of member companies, to present and discuss updated inspection lists for food industrial facilities and the basic requirements for food safety in food storage facilities.
Dr. Mahmoud Melam, Director of the Warehouse Inspection Department at the National Food Safety Authority, pointed out the presidential initiative to develop milk collection centers, especially the infrastructure, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, which the Authority supervises, pointing out that the number of milk collection centers on the white list is 61 farms, and work is underway with 250 registered people in the Authority. He also clarified that the administration is concerned only with warehouses outside the industrial facility.
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fadil, responsible for the oversight file of manufacturing facilities at the National Food Safety Authority, confirmed that the Authority is in the process of announcing the list of factories that meet the requirements of the registration list, pointing out that the Authority is fully prepared to sit with the Chamber of Food Industries to develop and review the evaluation guide for the items included in the inspection lists.
Dr. Warhan Othman, Factory Control Team at the National Food Safety Authority, presented the new checklists (inspection) for factory control, which are the registration list, the qualification list, and the accreditation list, explaining the differences between the lists and the items for which the degree of risk was changed or transferred from one list to another based on the observations made. It was compiled from reviews of establishments during previous periods and helps establishments comply with requirements in a gradual manner that can be achieved quickly.
