
The Chamber of Food Industries held the regular meeting of the Meat and Poultry Division, headed by Dr. Mohamed Al-Shafei, a member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, to discuss the challenges facing the sector and study the issuance of standard specifications for new products, in the presence of a large number of slaughterhouse owners and meat and poultry factories who are members of the Chamber. The meeting discussed a proposal by some producers to oblige slaughterhouses to create an electronic invoice for factories that carry out slaughter, in addition to activating the Poultry Trading Law No. 70 of 2009 prohibiting the slaughter and trading of live poultry. Dr. Reda Abdel Galil, General Director of the Technical Affairs Department at the Chamber of Food Industries, added: “The Chamber was keen to meet monthly with the Director of Inspection at the National Food Safety Authority to resolve any problems related to reconciling conditions and registration with the Authority, as well as preparing a series of training programs for meat and poultry manufacturers.
