
The Chamber of Food Industries held a workshop entitled “Utilizing Agricultural and Food Processing Waste in Producing Unconventional Feed for Farm Animals” in the presence of a large number of the Chamber’s members to discuss the challenges of optimal use of food and agricultural waste to address the shortage of feed raw materials, in addition to developing a vision for cooperation mechanisms between factories and waste recycling companies. The attendees also shared their experiences in benefiting from manufacturing waste and recommended the importance of cooperation between the private sector and relevant ministries to maximize the benefit from food manufacturing waste, organizing training courses for factories and raising awareness on how to separate, transport, collect, prepare and analyze waste, in addition to constantly updating a database in which all concerned parties and factories participate to create an information center to share the recycling of food and agricultural manufacturing waste.
