Dr. Maysa Hamza, Executive Director of the Chamber of Food Industries, opened the workshop by explaining that the workshop comes within the activities of the protocol signed between the Laboratory and the Chamber. It serves the Chamber’s members in all areas of food manufacturing by discussing the problems faced by some producers or exporters and develop appropriate solutions in coordination with various relevant government and research agencies as part of its constant endeavor to support members in all technical aspects through training programs and participation in legislation and technical regulations for the food industry sector, which increases the Chamber's responsibilities towards its members.
For her part, Dr. Hend Abdellah, Director of the Central Laboratory for Analysis of Pesticide Residues and Heavy Metals, said that the workshop aims primarily to support workers in this important sector by spreading awareness and technical support and clarifying many important matters that affect production and export, and that the Laboratory shares its expertise in providing analytical services for examining contaminants in foods, providing free technical consultations, organizing guidance and training workshops, and some training programs with the Chamber for the benefit of its members.
At the end of the day, the door for participation was opened for the Chamber’s members, by asking questions and inquiries, which were answered by the Laboratory’s experts. Both Dr. Maysa Hamza and Dr. Hend Abdellah confirmed that the Chamber and the Laboratory, in light of the close cooperation between them, will organize several other workshops in different specializations.It was also noted that the Laboratory is ready to receive all members of the Chamber to visit its laboratories and learn closely about the various analysis methods.
